Champagne Tarlant ZERO Brut Nature NV
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceFounded in 1687, this Marne based, family owned grower champagne house is now in the care of the 12th generation, managing 14 organically farmed hectares in the Vallée de la Marne. This unique champagne blends equal parts pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay, with lesser parts petit messier, arbanne, and pinot blanc, all from vines 40+ years old. Each plot was native fermented in barrel with no MLF, and this bottle was based on 2014, with 40% reserve wines. It spent 5.5 years on lees, and was disgorged February 2021 with 0 dosage. Quite perfumed, with ripe red and yellow apple, orchard blossoms scenting a deep biscuit and dough core. An oxidative cloud hangs above, while some toasted ginger spices roll underneath. The zero dosage holds the freshness in check presently, but this (at least this disgorge, on these western Canadian shelves) is definitely drink now. Look for fresher versions, which will deliver a far purer result.Tasted: 05 November 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $87.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
