Champagne Laurent Lequart Prestige Brut Nature NV

Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceFourth generation vine growers, based in Passy-Grigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, Laurent took over the family operations in 1988, and moved it into sustainable viticulture: HVE (High Environmental Value); and VDC (sustainable Viticulture in Champagne). Their 11.4 ha of vineyards are focused on pinot meunier. This pinot meunier comes from 45-50 year old vines in Passy-Grigny, and its clay / limestone soils. This bottle was based on 2016, with 20% reserve wines. It was vinified in a mix of stainless and oak (50% MLF) before heading to bottle and 6 years sur lattes. It was disgorged with 6 g/L in August 2022. Ripe red apple, tart rhubarb leads into an oxidative, mealy palate, with ketchup chips, sharp acids, and a snappy lemon on the finish. Lacking pleasure, and not holding up very well.Tasted: 02 November 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
