Champagne Laurent Lequart Millésime Extra Brut 2015

Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceFourth generation vine growers, based in Passy-Grigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, Laurent took over the family operations in 1988, and moved it into sustainable viticulture: HVE (High Environmental Value); and VDC (sustainable Viticulture in Champagne). Their 11.4 ha of vineyards are focused on pinot meunier. This 2015 is equal parts chardonnay and pinot meunier from their home village, with the PM fermented in stainless and the chardonnay in oak, with full MLF. This rested sur lattes for 72 months, and was disgorged in April 2022 with 5 g/L. Ample bread dough, toasted hazelnut, red and green apple, soy, fills an expansive palate, hazed with oxidation, which sadly drags this down some. The finish rings with bright, tart lemon. Drink now, ideally with food.Tasted: 02 November 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
