Champagne Bourgeois-Diaz Blanc de Blancs NV
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceJérôme Bourgeois-Diaz is a 4th generation vigneron overseeing his family's 7ha estate since 2001 in Crouttes-sur-Marne, on the banks of the Marne River halfway between Paris and Reims. Certified Demeter biodynamic since 2015, the vine rows are interspersed with native, wild plants, the winery follows the biodynamic calendar. This BdB, made in tiny quantities, was from vines planted in the 1980s on clay and limestone soils, from a lieu-dit called Le Temple. It was native fermented and aged in stainless (67%) and in barrel (some new), and this bottle was disgorged in February 2021, with 0 dosage. Tight lemon peel and chalk streak across the chiseled form, scented with delicate white blossoms, crunchy pear, and streaked with wild herbs. Quite commanding, while still very finessed. Around 1500 bottles produced.Tasted: 26 November 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:France | $40.00 | 750ml | France (euros) |
