Casisano Rosso di Montalcino 2019

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyThis Rosso di Montalcino comes from the high vineyards of Podere Casisano in the hills to the south east of Montalcino. The fruit offers immediate charm, and it is a wine you can open now and enjoy with a pizza or a mushroom pasta dish. Look for bloody red fruit streaked with plums and mixed berries. It gets a traditional maceration on the skins for 12 days before spending 8 months in Slavonian oak casks and 6 months in bottle. Casisano's 22 hectares of vineyards are situated at 480m on a natural terrace facing southeast of Montalcino. The vines sit over a rocky base of sandstone, schistous marl, galestro, and veins of volcanic origin. In 2011, the Tommasi family, of renowned Veneto fame, purchased the property, and today, the 4th generation of siblings is involved with running the company, employing an integrated production system that guarantees the eco-sustainable management of agricultural activities.Tasted: 01 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
