Monterey County, Central Coast, California, United StatesThis Monterey chardonnay is the perfect mix of 80% stainless steel fermented juice and 20% barrel fermented, aged in neutral French oak. The result is a much improved chardonnay compared to previous versions going back a decade or so. Its tangy peach with sweet lime notes has a delicate, lively mid-palate and a smooth, creamy texture that runs through the finish. There is just enough complexity here to lift this label above the ordinary and to over deliver for the price. Modern California is a good descriptor.
