Black Stallion Cabernet Sauvignon Gaspare Vineyard 2020
Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley, California, United StatesThe Gaspare Vineyard sits inside the Oak Knoll District AVA of Napa Valley and traditionally yields a rich, opulent style of cabernet. It was a challenging vintage that meant lower yields and smoke issues for many, but on the valley floor of Napa, most wineries picked between the two big fires, avoiding the worst smoke that came in late September with the Glass fire. Right out of the gate, the Gaspare label offers pure black fruits, an amalgam of savoury dried rosemary, baking spices, and toasted oak. Rich, round, and full bodied, the palate boasts ripe Napa cabernet fruit, blackberry and black currant compote, dark chocolate, and espresso, with sticky tannins that permeate the long, warm finish.Tasted: 09 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
Black Stallion Cabernet Sauvignon Gaspare Vineyard 2020
Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley, California, United StatesThis structured, bold cabernet is made with grapes from Gaspare Vineyard, named after Gaspare Indelicato, the founder of Delicato Family Wine, which owns Black Stallion in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. Pouring a deep, inky hue, it reveals rich, dark black cherries and blackberries layered with cedar, graphite, and warm spices, all framed by dusty, firm tannins that still need some time to resolve, but ensure the wine’s ageability. The mid-palate shows fullness with compact, dense flavours, and it finishes with a long, earthy impression.Tasted: 29 March 2025Tasted by: Prices:
