Belle Colle Langhe Nebbiolo 2023
Piedmont, ItalyDOC Langhe Nebbiolo is a stepping stone to the bigger, more prosperous, more intense versions of nebbiolo, aka Barolo, from the same year. But there is Langhe Nebbiolo, and there is Langhe Nebbiolo. Belle Colle is one of those exceptions that goes the extra mile and takes the label closer to a Barolo than most. Look for fragrant violet and roses to mingle with fresh, ripe black cherries. The entry is charmingly soft and fresh, pitching more plums and raspberries amid soft, dusty, light tannins. There is no apparent dryness here, just a delicious, smashable red that, at a second glance, is probably more deserving of serious study, but why bother? A solid effort from a challenging year in Piemonte that is ready to drink.Tasted: 28 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $38.99 | 750ml | stocked speculative listing - Summit Fine Wines |
