Albamar Clarete NV
Rías Baixas, Galicia, SpainAlbamar Clarete is a one of a kind SKU in Xurxo Alba's wine portfolio. Clarete is made with 90% mencía grapes pressed off quickly as if they were grapes going into a white wine, along with 10% albariño (hand harvested from granite soils) directly pressed, fermented, and added to the mencia and left to age for 6 months in 500L French oak barrels. The colour is a light tinted copper hue followed by a stony, citrus, earthy, red currant wine that looks like a deep rosé but presents as a white wine with rich texture and freshness. It's bottled unfined and lightly filtered with low SO2 at bottling.
