Albamar Albariño 2023
Rías Baixas, Galicia, SpainThis is pitched as an entry level Albarino, but it delivers more. The nose is an enticing mix of fragrant yellow and orange fruits with a saline and almond undercurrent, aided by sandy spices and a perfect dusting of lees. There are endless food possibilities for West Coasters to try with this electric white. The Alba family has a long multi-generational history of farming and making Albariño in the Rïas Baixas' O Salnés subregion. The family owns 2.5 hectares and sources approximately 10 hectares throughout the region. The albariño vines are based on sandy soils that are fermented wild parcel by parcel.Tasted: 14 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $42.99 | 750ml | estimated retail in select private wine shops |
