Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesNamed for Green Valley of Willamette (La Combe Verde), this chardonnay comes From 5 vineyards including 3 volcanic Eola-Amity sites; old vines of Hyland Vineyard; and the sedimentary soils of iconic Freedom Hill. This was native fermented with full MLF in large barrels (25% new) with little bâtonnage, where it remained for 10 months before heading to bottle. Ample flint opens this svelte chardonnay, shaped by river stones and coursing with lemon and green apple. Taut acidity holds this at attention, and spires it through a lingering saline finish.
