Van Westen Vineyards Di Bello Wines VD Pinot Noir 2023

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTom DiBello and Rob Van Westen began collaborating on this Naramata pinot noir long before the region experienced a surge in popularity for the heartbreak grape. Located on the Naramata Bench, which benefits from warm afternoons and cool early mornings, their joint venture has consistently yielded a richly styled pinot noir. The grapes are sourced from Granite Ridge Vineyard, which faces north, allowing the dark, floral notes and sweet black cherry to emerge prominently in the wine. This sets the stage for a fresh palate filled with juicy black plums and strawberries sprinkled with baking spices, reminiscent of a blend between Sonoma Coast and Central Otago. The savoury black plum slides smoothly across the palate, complemented by soft tannins. This wine has the depth to pair excellently with heartier dishes such as beef Bourguignon, duck confit, or roasted Cornish game hen.Tasted: 22 October 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
