Red Barn Stand Apart Barbera 2022
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Red Barn Barbera is a fun look at this well known Italian grape variety played in the magical Jagged Rock Vineyard, which seems to be all things to many grape varieties. One thing it has is that signature acidic backbone, a trademark of the Piemonte versions. It has a smoky, earthy, savoury warm mid-palate reflecting its southern Okanagan Valley position, but that acidity keeps it fresh from front to back. A mix of floral scents and bright red fruit finish the picture with an intriguing look at Barbera aged in concrete. This would be best with mushroom or beef dishes that can absorb the acid. Promising, to say the least.Tasted: 04 October 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $75.00 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers |
