Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, United StatesFounded in 1996, DuMOL is a vineyard focused producer of cool climate Russian River Valley Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from exceptional vineyards. Winemaker, viticulturist and partner Andy Smith has been at the helm of DuMOL's since 1999. 2021 is the 20th vintage of Sonoma Coast's Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay, and it's a striking one. This spent 11 months in 20% new French oak Cigare barrels followed by 5 months in tank. Powerful and structured, with juicy lemon, light toast, and subtle nougat holding confident across the expansive palate, held to attention by a shimmering acidity. Quite a polished wine, with many layers well interwoven, finishing with linger toast.
