CedarCreek Platinum Haynes Creek Single Vineyard Syrah 2022

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe inaugural vintage of the Platinum Syrah was only five years ago. The vines were 15 years old in 2022, and the wine is a knockout. It's now certified organic, and it's all wild fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks before spending 13 months in French oak barrels and 500L puncheons to help further encourage an effortless drinking style; no easy task with syrah. The colour is dark and deep, the attack soft and floral with a peppery meaty entry and beautiful sweet character that runs the length of the palate. It is a magical Pacific Northwest meets Rhone style. Drinking this wine and seeing how high it can reach makes me wonder if the vines survived the deep freeze in 2023. Fresh and balanced at only 13.5 percent alcohol, this one must be stocked up.Tasted: 09 October 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
