Artakama Cabernet Franc 2022
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis natural cab franc comes off young vines in Stagg 1 vineyard in south Osoyoos. After a native ferment over 1 month, this was pressed into stainless for MLF before moving to neutral 500L French puncheons. It remained in puncheon (with a couple of rackings) until the following spring when it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Opening with a spritz and a puff of reduction, this turns into downy bayberry, tart wild blackberry, fragrant plum wrapped with soft, furry tannins, finishing with an espresso grip on the snappy end.
