Andre Colonge et Fils Beaujolais Villages 2022

Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceThis vinegrower-winemaker family dates back to 1789, and their estate is in LanciƩ, amidst the Crus of the north. Currently run by brothers Landry and Samuel, and their father Serge, they own 30 HA across 4 appellations: Fleurie, Brouilly, Beaujolais Villages, and Beaujolais. Sourced from plots in granite and silica clay soils, the average vine age in this Villages is 45 years old. This is made semi-carbo, achieving an easy mix of drinkability and seriousness, with crushed plum, dried florals, and crushed stones. The slender palate is wrapped with fine tannins, and lofted with an easy acidity, finishing off with a dusting of pink peppercorn and kiss of salinity. A charming example, drinking very smartly now.Tasted: 01 October 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
