Tantalus Syrah Furthur Afield Series 2022
Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Tantalus Further Afield Series is an opportunity for the winemaking team to spread their wings, where they work exclusively with old vineyards in East Kelowna. This syrah hails from Blind Creek Vineyard in the Similkameen before being whacked by two cold winters. The terroir is epic, Similkameen Valley. The soils are mainly unforgiving stony, broken granite and decomposed granite too. It’s wild fermented and gently run into French oak barrels, of which only 15% are new. After eleven months, the wine goes to the bottle and is alive with rich floral stony notes, fresh white pepper, and fragrant dry red fruit streaked with desert brush.
