Phoenix Afterglow Rosé 2023
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Phoenix labels are a new series of wines, taking Corcelette's winemaker Charlie Baessler outside the estate to source grapes to expand its offerings, especially timely given the recent winter damage in the Similkameen. In 2021, this fruit was sourced from King Vineyard on the Naramata Bench. This vibrant red-pink rosé mixes merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, and cabernet sauvignon fermented in stainless steel and finished with a modest 5.4 g/L of sugar. The nose is a cherry berry affair with candied strawberry and melon, finishing dry and weighty compared to most paler, lighter versions.
