Lourens Family Wines Howard John 2021

Swartland, Coastal Region, South AfricaNamed after Franco Lourens' dad, whose image features on the label, Howard John is a Swartland blend of Grenache with 30% Cinsault and 15% Syrah, sourced from a combination of granite and iron-rich clay soils. This was whole bunch and native fermented. There's a beauty sapid core of wild cherry, raspberry, sunripened strawberry, kissed with fragrant scrubby herbs, and framed with long, lithe, sticky tannins. What a graceful, finessed wine.Tasted: 27 September 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
