François Mikulski Crémant de Bourgogne NV
Burgundy, FranceFrançois Mikulski’s father was Lieutenant Mieczyslaw Mikulski, an escapee from occupied Poland in 1939, fleeing to England and joining the Resistance troops of the Free Polish Forces. It was there he met his future wife, a Burgundian working on an English army base. They moved to Brussels where François was born and raised. François spent his formative summers in Burgundy, where he fell in love with wine culture (fortunately for us). This is harvest 2019, and blends 50% pinot noir, 35% chardonnay, and 15% aligoté. Like all his wines, this is very precise and focused, with crunchy apple and river stones ruling the sleek, defined palate. The finish is shaped with a lingering stony salinity. Very impressive crémant.Tasted: 10 September 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:QC | $37.50 | 750ml | SAQ |
