Blue Mountain Reserve Cuvée Pinot Noir 2022

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2022 Reserve Pinot is a blend of Blue Mountain’s three key pinot vineyards with vines now 25 years and older with a mix of clones 113, 114, 115, and 667. It’s undoubtedly one of the best-structured pinots they have released: silky, rich, dark cherry with a surprising density from front to back and top to bottom. The Reserve gets a manual thinning in the vineyard to reduce the crop yield and increase the flavour and weight concentration before wild fermentation. The rest is classic practice: hand harvested fruit, destemmed, placed in open top fermentation tanks. Post ferment, the decanted juice is put in a blend of new to 4th-fill 228L French oak barrels bottled in March 2024. At CDN $45, it is easily one of the best in its class in North America.
