Westcott Vineyards Block 76 Chardonnay 2021
Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFrom Niagara's Vinemount Ridge and its extreme climate (too far south for lake effect, extremes in winter necessitate use of geo-textiles), this clone 76 chardonnay was native fermented in neutral barrique with full MLF for 10 months, before moving into neutral puncheons for 6 additional months, and topped with 2020 lees. Nutty and toasty with a buzzy electric energy livening the creamy mid-palate, and a kiss of reduction charming the finish.
