Luke Wines Merlot 2020
Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesLuke Merlot is grown on the Wahluke Slope in the Columbia Valley of Washington State. It is much like many Columbia merlot: big, rich, warm, soft, and peppery with black fruit and clove spice. Opulen is a good word for it. It's not complex but satisfying nonetheless, and it's the perfect wine for grilled beef. The fruit comes from several vineyards: Weinbau, Stone Tree, Clifton Hill, Sugarloaf, and Ravencliff. In 2002, the final blend was 92% merlot, 6% cabernet sauvignon and 2% cabernet franc, all aged in French & American Oak. It is ready to drink.Tasted: 16 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $43.99 | 750ml | estimated retail in select private wine shops |
