Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of two Pinot Noirs released by Lightning Rock in 2022, this is from Summerland's Elysia Vineyard, and its limestone laced, granite bedded slopes, with vines planted 2006. This fruit was destemmed and native fermented over 2 weeks before being pressed to neutral French barriques for 7 months' rest. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Fragrant raspberry, peony, and wild strawberries is lifted with crunchy rhubarb, and framed with long, fine and sticky tannins.
