Laurent Miquel Alaina Albariño 2021
l'Aude, Vin de Pays d'Oc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceLike many foreigners, Laurent Miquel first encountered Albariño in Galicia, Spain, while on holiday. Taken aback by its delicate and fresh nature, Laurent grew it at altitude in the Languedoc, where most thought he was crazy. Ultimately, it fits in perfectly with his white aromatic varieties in Corbières. The Albariño is grown at Les Auzines estate at 400 metres altitude between the Alaric Mountains and the Alzou Gorge. Freshness is vital to this region's grapes, and Alaina opens with intense lemon peel that spills onto the palate, mixing with lime, green papaya, and guava. West Coast shellfish would be a fine match, as are most vegetarian dishes.Tasted: 29 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $24.49 | 750ml | speculative listing - Icon Fine Wines and Spirits |
