Italia Sangiovese 2022
Puglia, ItalyThis is a simple, well made, varietally correct sangiovese. It is a medium bodied, everyday red with fresh red fruit and berries. The attack is led by ripe plum and forest berries balanced by bright acidity and earthy tannins. Best with simple pasta dishes including Parmesan and olive oil or a tomato ragu. Well priced for what it is. Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading cooperative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte. They aim to produce authentic, well priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. They source from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom they have long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo, and Sardinia.Tasted: 16 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $16.49 | 750ml | select private retailers |
