Bordeaux, FranceThis merlot comes from the Commune of Galgon, near Fronsac, 10 kilometres north and slightly east of Pomerol. The property farms a six hectare high density site of 45 year old vines over clay-gravel slopes. The style is Right Bank, with luscious blackberry and rich tannins that run through a long, primarily silky finish. At 14.5 percent, this competes with New World merlot on the West Coast but has the structure to cellar a decade and beyond.
