Cahors, Sud-Ouest, FranceChateau Eugenie has a long lineage of winemakers that dates back to 1470 when the Couture family of winegrowers served the Lord of Albas and their great-great-grandmother, Eugenie, who offered her name to the property. Centuries of tradition and know how have been passed on from one generation to the next in the heart of Cahors. In 2020, the mix is 85% malbec, and the 15% merlot is grown on a terraced hillside vineyard. The colour is Cahors dark with intense blackberry, black cherry, and forest floor that spills onto the palate. The texture is more forgiving than you might imagine, pitching soft tannins and balance.
