Blue Mountain Estate Cuvée Pinot Blanc 2023
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSomeday, Pinot Blanc will find its audience, but for now, it remains a wine for the cognoscenti who see it for what it is: a hugely undervalued white wine with its own story to tell. This begins with a German clone whose vines are now 38 years old. At the press, the settled juice goes to stainless steel tanks and French oak foudres, where it is fermented wild and aged on its lees for six months. Crisp and clean, the nose is a mix of orchard stone fruits and white flowers that spill onto the palate, creamy and spicy with mineral undersides. There is a lot of value here, and this was made for the dinner table. You could lay this down, but why wait? It's perfect now.Tasted: 06 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $25.90 | 750ml | winery online/direct |
