Black Hills Nota Bene 2022

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2022 Nota Bene blends 46% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18% Cabernet Franc from the Southern Okanagan. It was destemmed and whole berry native fermented, before resting 18 months in French barriques and puncheons (47% new). Plump and plush blackberry and wild cassis flood the core, while the sides are structured with firm, finely grippy tannins. Scrubby violets, ink, and toasted spice season, with the lingering finishing trailing off with toasted cedar and cracked peppercorns. Though drinking well now (grilled striploin), winemaker Ross Wise is certainly crafting this for the cellar and future enjoyment.Tasted: 19 August 2024Tasted by: Prices:
