Three Sisters Winery Marina The Sister Series 2016
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe fourth label in the Sister Series is named after Matt's older sister, Marina. It is made from tempranillo aged in new American oak for two years. It's eight years old and at its zenith, helped by a remarkable 2016 growing season that was very kind to BC red wines. It has the red fruit nuances of tempranillo streaked with savoury desert scrub and bits of bitter chocolate. The tannins are all but dissipated, and the textures are silky and extended in a noticeably fresh finish. This is an excellent experience for those who seldom drink older wine.
