Three Sisters Winery Emily The Sisters Series 2014
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe inaugural Sister Series label, named after Rebecca's eldest sister, Emily, is a decade old. It was selected from the very best Cabernet Franc barrels. At a decade old, the colour is browning, and the wine gives off tertiary earthy, mushroom notes with some slightly volatile spicy black fruit. It's in surprisingly good shape but needs drinking this fall at the latest. Full-bodied and robust, this was blended with a select barrel of Merlot to round out the palate and soften the tannins. The entire Sisters Series Collection is available directly from the winery for $379.99. The six-pack of one bottle of each unique label features Emily, Katarina, Abigail, Marina, Rebecca, and Kiki in a pine collectors box. The Sister Series Collection is a tribute to the strong, inspiring sisters of both Matt and Rebecca Mikulic. From eldest to youngest, each wine is named after a different sister, all with distinct personalities.
