Kaleden, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is the first release of Anarchy Pinot Gris, sourced from Kaleden's Belich Vineyard. It is fermented in a mix of 42/41/17 stainless steel, ceramic balls, and neutral puncheons, and then stored for seven months on its lees before blending and bottling. Mayhem has that hard-to-copy knack for making delicious wines. In this case, the mix of grapefruit, peach, and nectarine with a spicy finish gives it a rich but easy drinking style. It's more intense than their classic pinot gris, and a smidgen is more complex, but still just as approachable now. Save this for the dinner table, but you must be a club member to buy it.Tasted: 04 July 2024Tasted by: Prices:
Kaleden, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis imposing dark glass and gold-lettered bottle is the inaugural release of Anarchy Pinot Gris, sourced from Kaleden's Belich Vineyard. This is fermented in a mix of stainless steel (42%), ceramic balls (41%), and neutral puncheons (17%). All were then held on lees for seven months before blending and bottling. Sleek pear, subtle white peach, white grapefruit peel, and apricot fuzz flood the full, 14% palate, alluringly textured with a finely buzzy spice that lingers on the finish. Quite an aspirational wine and well achieved. Save this for the dinner table.Tasted: 09 July 2024Tasted by: Prices:
