Gneiss Pinot Gris 2023

British Columbia, CanadaGneiss is one of those wineries running under the radar at District Wine Village. There is nothing electric or fancy here, but the winemaking for this Naramata-based gris is solid, involving a collaboration between winemakers Bertus Albertyn (Burrowing Owl) and Scott Robinson (Little Engine). Robinson will work with Gneiss going forward to shape the wines. The ’23 is the inaugural release from Block 444 of Gneiss estate vineyard on Evans Road in Naramata Bench. The stainless steel white is a round version, with tropical fruit, an undercurrent of light citrus, and a hint of spice in the back end. Ready to drink, it would be a fun wine for tempura dishes.Tasted: 13 July 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
