Chivite Legardeta Single Vineyard Garnacha 2019
Navarra and Basque Country, SpainLegardeta Garnacha is a single vineyard Navarra red crafted to be full bodied and fruit forward with a balanced alcohol level and mouthwatering acidity. On the first sip, they hit the mark perfectly. The nose mixes fresh dark red fruit led by raspberries and cherries with some florals. On the palate, flavours are darker and more expansive, pitching spice and vanilla that disappear into a juicy, textured finish. This is an easy wine to like, and it's just beginning to open up and settle onto a plateau it will hold through 2028-29. Lamb or pork would be fine picks, or a fall root vegetable casserole. This is a real wine that is well done. The grapes are harvested by hand and placed into small 200kg crates. Upon arrival in the winery, the grapes are sorted and gravity fed into 20,000 kg stainless steel vats, where the wine ferments at a controlled temperature.
