Chivite Finca Legardeta Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2022
Navarra and Basque Country, SpainMono-varietals, as known in Spain, are a big part of the Chivite Legardeta range, including chardonnay, syrah and grenache. These are wines from vines growing in one of the northernmost winegrowing areas on the Iberian Peninsula, Navarra. Over the last two decades, this wine has evolved into a much more exciting chardonnay, shedding weight and oak and upping its acid to become a more interesting. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before undergoing a short maceration and a quick, gentle pressing. Once settled, the must is transferred into a mix of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, where it ferments and remains on its lees for about 5 months.
