Bodegas Tentenublo Xérico Rioja 2018

Rioja, SpainRoberto Oliván is the force behind Tentenublo, one of the growing band of Rioja winemakers focused on making single vineyard wines of place. Most of his organic vineyard plots (including his family's historic holdings) are situated his home village of Viñaspre, a high altitude site near Lanciego in Rioja Alavesa. Xérico is his house wine, a cofermented blend of tempranillo and viura aged for 5 months in cement and chestnut foudres. Juicy cherry, raspberry, and rasped pink peppercorn flood the palate, now showing some autumnal leaves and baking spice of age. Tannins are sinewy and the finish flushed with warmth, calling out for lamb kebobs to counter.Tasted: 07 July 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
