Lightning Rock Cabernet Franc Rosé 2023

Golden Mile Slopes, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Oliver's Alvail Estate Vineyard, on the Golden Mile Slopes, this new cabernet franc rosé was 2/3 whole cluster pressed, with the remainder destemmed with 3 hours' maceration. All was native fermented in a mix of stainless and neutral oak puncheons, where it remained for 6 months on lees. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pouring a bright salmon hue, this leads with a desert sage scrub that infiltrates tart raspberries, wild strawberries, and cherry blossoms. Acidity is bright, though buffered by the gentle lees pad on the core, while the finish is dusted with pink peppercorn. Quite smart, and a welcome addition to their portfolio and the BC rosé scene.Tasted: 06 June 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
