Hester Creek GSM 2022
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHester Creek has released its first GSM (grenache, syrah mourvèdre), chasing a fruitier, rounded Rhône style in a clear departure from their other Bordeaux reds. There are precious few in the region, although Road 13, a nearby neighbour, has been releasing one for a decade, as does Pentâge further up the valley in Penticton. The Hester Creek grenache and mourvèdre come out of Osoyoos. It is not as spicy as the Rhône or Australian versions, but it has better acidity, keeping it fresh and highlighting its juicy red fruit demeanour and savoury South Okanagan scents. It is an impressive first hit for young vines.
