Domaine des Tourelles Vieilles Vignes Carignan 2021
LebanonLike the cinsault, this carignan comes from 50+ year old vines in Western Bekaa. This is a rugged, savoury red with lifted dark plum and red cherry backed by leather, potpourri, anise, and clay. The tannins are assertive and chewy, even after two years in concrete, and this is calling for hearty grilled meats like lamb kofta, or another 2-3 years in the cellar.Tasted: 05 June 2024Tasted by: Prices:

Domaine des Tourelles Vieilles Vignes Carignan 2021
LebanonFrom a western Bekaa site at 1050m elevation, this old vine carignan was fermented in concrete vats with indigenous yeast and aged for 2 years in the same. It begins with a slightly reserved profile that evolves into a sumptuous red. Raspberry, red plum, fresh fig, and dark cherry merge with dusty earthiness and hints of dried lavender. The fruit, both fleshy and pure, integrates seamlessly with savoury rustic notes. Ample tannins lead to a dry, satisfying finish.Tasted: 05 June 2024Tasted by: Prices:
