Noble Ridge The One Grand Reserve Brut 2017
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Home Vineyard is the source of The One Grand Reserve, whose fruit comprises 78% chardonnay clones 76 and 95 planted in 2003, and 22% Pinot Noir clones 114, 115, and 777 planted in 2001 and 2008. It comes from south and north facing slopes planted over sand, gravel, and rock in Okanagan Falls. It is a terroir particularly suited to making complex sparkling wine, according to Noble Ridge Director of Winemaking & Viticulture, Benoît Gauthier. The original fruit was picked at a mouthwatering 18 Brix, supplying the acidity and energy to a wine that is now eight full years down the road and ageing gracefully. The orchard fruit is fading under a patina of almonds and cashews, with a streak of peach compote and apple pie crust in its extended, mouth-filling finish, accompanied by a hint of salinity and minerals. Best of all, it's still improving in the bottle at a bargain price. This was whole cluster pressed, cool fermented for the base wine, and then undergoes a second fermentation in bottle, spending 66 months on the lees.Tasted: 03 November 2025Tasted by: Prices:| BC | $49.99 | 750ml | winery direct/online, select private retailers |
