Noble Ridge The One Grand Reserve Brut 2017

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNoble Ridge BenoƮt Gauthier, Director of Winemaking & Viticulture, has been studying the geology of the Okanagan Falls property since he arrived, and wines like this 2017 Grand Reserve would suggest the terroir is particularly suited to making complex sparkling wine. The Home Vineyard is the source of The One Grand Reserve, a 78/22 mix of chardonnay/pinot noir that makes up this intriguing wine. The original fruit was picked at mouthwatering 18 Brix, supplying the acidity and the electricity to a wine that is now seven years down the road, ageing gracefully in bottle. The orchard fruit is fading under a patina of almonds and cashews with a streak of peach compote in the back end. The finish is long and mouthfilling with a hint of salinity and minerals that carry the day. It is ready to drink now through next year.Tasted: 22 May 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
