Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe King Family Vineyard Merlot is a Matt Dumayne, Kat D'Costa production from a single vineyard of 40 year old vines on the Naramata Bench. The attack is full on merlot with ripe blackberries, boysenberries, and black cherries streaked with savoury leather. The wine has that concrete fermentation textural excellence, supple, silky, and sensual, this slides down before you even notice it. A lemon stuffed roasted chicken would be my food choice.
