Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe South Kelowna Slopes Pinot Noir Rosé blends fruit from Home Block and Simes Vineyards. Farmed and certified organic, it is all hand harvested and then foot trodden to break up the skins and allow time for the skins and juice to macerate together for a short 30-90 minutes. From here, it is pressed off and treated as a white wine. The emphasis is on protecting aromatics and using lees contact and different fermentation vessels: 55% stainless, 25% oak barrel, and 20% foudre with three months of lees contact to build weight and texture. In the glass, it has a beautiful savoury undercurrent supporting a rich mineral stony palate with streaks of cherry and citrus rind.
