Blue Mountain Estate Cuvée Chardonnay 2022
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt is my first look at the BM chardonnay since 2020, as they did not release 2021 due to smoke damage. This is the ripest, richest version of this wine I have tasted, with a pronounced sweet pear/pineapple flavour amid a creamy, complex mix of spicy lees, toast, and minerals. It is certainly a little more opulent than I am used to from this producer. Not much can touch this chardonnay in most years, especially for $30, so I expect it will be in high demand.
