Tightrope Winery Chardonnay 2022
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Naramata Bench's Four Shadows Vineyard, this chardy was whole cluster pressed and French barrel fermented over 3 weeks (1/2 MLF) before ageing 9 months on lees. Ripe and creamy, with ample oak presence colouring the lemon, green apple, and apple fritter filling the medium+ palate. Some tight, brisk lime / lemon thistle acidity works well to hold this en pointe. Though has good intensity, this lacks some sophistication at this point.
