Seven Directions Cabernet Franc Rosé 2023
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIn 2023, winemaker Daniel Bontorin made a change in his winemaking process due to the cold snap in late 2022 which affected his regular rosé fruit at Fruitvale Vineyard. He expanded his grape sourcing to the south and started cold soaking the grapes for a couple of hours to achieve the desired Provençal pale pink rosé colour. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel and aged on lees. The resulting wine is a dry, juicy rosé with subtle notes of wild strawberries and watermelon, a savoury apricot finish with stony mineral undertones, and a hint of lime pith.
