Maison Smith Monpetit Tempranillo 2022

Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMaison Smith Montpetit is located at the heart of the lower Similkameen Valley, Canada’s organic winemaking capital. The vineyard is a mix of French and Italian grape varieties, not to mention this tempranillo. The winemaking is all about minimal intervention to let the site and grapes express themselves, and may I say, wow, this is a knockout first effort from owner, president, winemaker, and director Erich Smith-Peter. The texture and fruit components of this wine are as one. Fresh, juicy dark cherry and plum carries density and length, perfectly managed tannins, and a touch of desert scrub from the Similkameen environment.
