Lunessence Estate Single Vineyard Blanc de Noirs 2023
Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLunessence makes two rosés, but the Blanc de Noirs, a single vineyard offering, is the unique one, beginning with 60% of the grapes being foot trodden. It is wild fermented in neutral oak after a one hour cold soak, and then aged five months in stainless steel on its lees. This wine is now on the path to stardom with a clean structure, but the intense fruit flavours are a bit reminiscent of Tavel. Organes, tangerines, and lemons with an undercurrent of strawberries, this is dry and refreshing, and a stylish food wine to be enjoyed solo on a warm patio.
